Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 September 2026

This privacy policy explains how IJCH Consulting Limited (“IJCH”, “I”, “me”) collects and uses personal information when you visit ijchconsulting.co.uk or get in touch. I take your privacy seriously and only collect what I need to reply to you and run my business.

Who I am

IJCH Consulting Limited is the controller of your personal information. The company is registered in England and Wales, company number 14148463, with its registered office at Pelham Road, Thelwall, WA4 2HF.

For anything to do with this policy or your personal information, email simon@ijchconsulting.co.uk or call 07375 915374.

What I collect

When you use the contact form, I collect:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your company name and phone number, if you provide them
  • the content of your message

When you email or call me directly, I collect the details you choose to share, such as your name, contact details and what you need help with.

When you visit the website, the hosting server automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the site secure and working. The contact form also briefly stores a record of your IP address, for up to an hour, to stop spam.

How I use your information and my lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss how I might help. This is based on my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me or, where you are asking about my services, on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To provide services if you become a client. This is necessary for the performance of our contract.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent spam and misuse. This is based on my legitimate interest in running a safe, working website.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as keeping business and accounting records.

I do not use your information for automated decision-making. I will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing emails unless you have asked me to.

Who I share it with

I do not sell your personal information. I only share it with trusted service providers who help me run my business, and only as much as they need:

  • Bluehost (Newfold Digital), which hosts this website and stores contact form enquiries.
  • Microsoft, which provides my business email (Microsoft 365).
  • Google, which supplies the fonts used on this website (when a page loads, your browser connects to Google Fonts, which receives your IP address) and, if you accept the cookie notice, provides Google Analytics. See the cookies section below.
  • My accountant and professional advisers, where needed to run the company.

I may also disclose information if required by law.

International transfers

Some of these providers store or process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiries that do not lead to any work for up to 24 months and then delete them. If you become a client, I keep your information for as long as we work together and then for up to six years afterwards, so I can meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a short period, normally no longer than 30 days.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site, for example which pages are read and where visitors come from. It only runs if you choose “Yes, that’s fine” on the cookie notice. Until then, no analytics code is loaded and no analytics cookies are set. If you choose “No thanks”, your choice is remembered in your browser and nothing else is stored.

If you accept, Google sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_*, lasting up to two years) to tell repeat visits apart, and receives technical information about your visit, including a shortened version of your IP address. I use the reports in aggregate only and do not try to identify individuals. Google may process this data in the United States; see the international transfers section above. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which brings the notice back, and you can read Google’s own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

This website does not use advertising cookies. WordPress sets essential cookies only for people who log in to manage the site.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you
  • ask me to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask me to delete your information
  • object to or ask me to restrict how I use your information
  • ask me to transfer your information to another organisation, where this applies

To use any of these rights, email simon@ijchconsulting.co.uk. There is no charge, and I will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please contact me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
